What is Rotary all about?
Rotary is simply about having fun, making friends, and helping others.
Rotary members are part of a worldwide community of 1.2 million members in 50,000 clubs, all of which are open to men and women, young and old, working or not.
Marlow Thames Rotary Club is one of the town’s three local clubs. We have been around for over 25 years and our 40 or so very active members come from all walks of life. Our collective experience allows us to organise complex fund-raising and community support events.
Besides establishing Marlow Tastes two years ago, we jointly organise Marlow Santa’s Fun Run (which over the last 25 years has raised over £750,000) and Cookham Regatta.
Our fund-raising efforts both directly and indirectly now generate around £100,000 each year, all of which go to local, national, and international charities and causes.
But Rotary is not all about fund-raising. Our friendships develop at weekly meetings when we usual have an after-dinner speaker or a social activity.
